About this deal

ReadiGrass is a premium quality forage which is ideal for horses and ponies without access to grazing. The original dried grass, it is grown, harvested and dried with great care on our farm in Yorkshire - absolutely nothing is added. Water is removed gently from the grass in our low temperature drying process, retaining the natural flavours, wonderful smell, colour and most importantly the high nutrient value of fresh grass. There are lots of ways to feed grass to your rabbits whether they are house rabbits or you if don't have much lawn space. I can't recommend readigrass enough. My miniture Shetland foal became very poorly last year and ended up having colic surgery. Due to his young age and the surgery we had to be very careful when feeding. Readigrass has been great for this. He loves it. It's really helped us introduce food following his surgery. Thank you for this feed

Rabbits in the wild do eat mostly grass but they get a lot more exercise than most pet rabbits and their teeth get a lot more wear through gnawing branches. As Readigrass is cut and dried all year round, the cut can vary from a very rich, totally leafy dark green grass to a mixed green/light green mostly stalky cut. We are happy to advise which cut is currently available if you have any queries. Friendly Green Oat ReadiGrass is a delicious alternative to dried grass or hay and can add variety to your pet’s diet. It is suitable for: rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas and degus. Good quality forage, dried grass, timothy, green oat or hay should form the major part of the diet of these animals. This gives a feed that is more nutritious than hay yet still contains the digestible fibre essential for every horse’s health. For horses with limited access to fresh pasture it’s as close to fresh grass as you can get without being in a field!

Friendship Estates

The horse one has 15% protein content, whereas the Friendly readygrass (used to be Pure Dried Grass) only has 12%. But then on the Hay experts they list the 15% figure for Pure Dried Grass. So I suspect it's just variation between the samples tested and they're actually from the same source. Or maybe they've changed the product. You could also try growing your own pots of herbs or even some wildflower seed mixes which contain rabbit safe plants.

So I'm guessing that pet rabbits probably need lower protein levels than wild ones. But it probably also depends on how much exercise they get, whether they have twigs to gnaw, how many pellets you give, what food they're used to and the breed of rabbit (apparently smaller breeds may have higher energy requirements). The drying process retains vitamins and minerals needed to maintain health and keep your pet’s coat shiny Market leading ReadiGrass is the original dried grass made exclusively from British pastures. A unique production process ensures that the grass retains a high feed value and is significantly more nutritious than hay.Readigrass (formerly known as Pure Dried Grass) , from Friendship Estates, is a highly palatable feed containing only British grown grass without the inclusion of additives or preservatives. This product is carefully prepared to allow small animals to benefit from the goodness of natural grass all year round.

Our guinea pig absolutely loves this. Will eat at least a bowl a day if allowed. It smells amazing and certainly brightens up her day! She turns it into great compost pellets 🤣🤣🤣Visit your local garden centre and buy some grass seed, a tray and soil, there will be plenty of experts there to help you choose the best options. All our delivery services operate within the current COVID guidelines for your safety. If you have any particular COVID-related requirements, please just let us know. After visiting a friend that uses Readigrass she gave me a small bag to try as my old boy suffers i was concerned about him having it but my vet advised me because i have no grass in the field where he is along with my mare it would be fine to feed it he is a different pony 30 years old in may his coat is more shiney and he looks great now so big thanks for a great product Ann I can’t rate Readigrass highly enough. It is excellent for keeping weight on my 27 year old warmblood. The quality is so much better than the cheaper brands (which he won’t eat) and it is worth every penny.
