About this deal

The biggest disadvantage to the Hitachi is its weight, which weighing in at 10 pounds with battery, is a pound heavier than the Dewalt DCN692, and three pounds heavier than the Paslode CF325XP. The driving power of the NR90GC2/J8 is truly outstanding, a whopping 90 Joules, whilst its fully sequential actuation type means it doesn't sacrifice speed for power. For general use the Hikokis get a lot more use nowadays, and the Rawls which tend to get used as backups or when I need extra bodies nailing for a day or two). There’s one key thing to note about Pro Tool Reviews: We’re all about the professional tool user and tradesman!

The DW never went away - I always did my own spanner work on it on the rare occasions it required any. To put things in perspective, I currently have two Hikoki NR1890s, a couple of Rawl WW90CH gas nailers and a couple of pneumatic nailers (a Senco, a DW and a Hitachi). This is the latest version (J8) of the popular NR90GC2 gun - now with Lithium-Ion batteries instead of NiCd. Have fired around 4000 nails so far and only two misfires, both of which where related to the paper on the nails and not the gun, a quick push on the loader and it's back in action. For the sake of fairness, we can't really compare the NR1890DR to Paslode or Dewalt, since neither brand offers a cordless plastic strip framing nailer currently.

Safety features like the dry firing lockout and soft, non-slip rubber grip add to its appeal while the fold-away hook can be looped over joints for convenience. After a certain amount of time being on, but unused, the Hitachi Cordless Brad Nailer shuts itself off. All merchandise must be diagnosed by an authorized service center such as Nail Gun Depot to be deemed defective.

I've not had too much experience using framing nailers in the past and it's not often that I get to work on construction projects but I really look forward to the next one as I'll get to use this some more.g Citroen top end cars, self levelling systems on many cars including Mercedes Benz, Rolls Royce, Range Rover, etc) where "sealed for life" spheres effectively have a unit life of 60 to 90k before they need to be rebuilt and repressurised or replaced. Depressing the trigger causes the compressed air to be released which in turn causes the piston to shoot down and drives the nail into the wood. Efficiency concern - and in some cases questionable reliability - has kept many contractors from making the switch from air-power to battery-power, until now.

Gas nailers, on the other hand require regularcstripping and cleaning - far more intervention, in fact, than the cordless nailers. Featuring tool free depth adjustment, dry firing lock out, tool free jam clearance and a handy belt hook the Hitachi NT65GB has all the features you would expect from a top end nail gun and then some! This cordless nailer is ideal for all construction framing applications but is particularly useful for punch-out work on a jobsite for quick in-and-out operation with minimal hassle and professional results.I've had both the Hikoki and the Milwaukee in my hand and they feel unwieldy in comparison to my Senco. Rather than having to drag out multiple tools from the van, making multiple trips to both setup and tear down, I could just grab my tool and its batteries and go. The real volume jobs are ones like multiple skin diaphragm floors where you can be putting 150 to 600 nails per 8 x 4 sheet into the top skin. While unboxing it, my initial thought was that the nailer feels a little heavy, but also that the tool’s balance and ergonomics negate that weight.
