They’re easy to learn and very, very catchy so I often embarrass myself by randomly singing one as I’m going about my day. She absolutely loves it, lots of interaction with songs and words at a press of a button which she able to do herself. The level of play is changed by pressing the puppy’s foot, it’s a slightly longer press than the other general things require, but Daniel at just over two years old has worked out how to change the stage.The voice is also clear and sings some nice well-known songs (if you’re happy and you know it, pat a cake pat a cake) and well as some new ones so we have been able to sing along to the songs using the puppy as a prompt which has had a novelty factor I guess for Daniel as he has enjoyed doing this, and Emma has enjoyed joining in too. Grown-ups will appreciate that this SmartStages toy has 3 different levels of play, meaning the toy changes depending on children's developmental requirements.

The heart also lights up and twinkles along with the music which Baby J finds totally mesmerising to watch. Exposure to commonly encountered sounds during this key developmental phase has been shown to reduce anxiety levels in dogs as they grow.Despite my initial reservations about this laugh and learn puppy, Daniel is pretty engaged with it and it has added a different dimension into our play, using the songs the puppy sings as a prompt. The Puppy features over 50 different phrases, songs and tunes throughout the three levels which are activated by pressing the Puppy’s ears, paws, tummy or heart. Each key has a different shape with nubs and ridges throughout to give your puppy comforting surfaces to explore.
