A melancholy Romeo enters and is questioned by his cousin Benvolio, who learns that the cause of Romeo’s sadness is unrequited love. At the beginning of A Plague on Both Your Houses, the Master of Michaelhouse is found dead in rather bizarre circumstances. The main gates of the College were locked, but the scholar had ensured that the little-used back door was left open. Brother Bartholomew does not know who to trust so keeps his own counsel but that causes him to even distrust the people he loves.

The protagonist is Matthew Bartholomew who is an academic and physician at Michaelhouse College (now part of Trinity).and wanting it out in the world, I printed it up as a Halloween pamphlet that I circulated to friends and colleagues.
