About this deal

I should also add it’s possible to add filters to the X70 by first unscrewing the metal ring on the end of the barrel and then screwing-on the optional PRF-49S accessory which supports 49mm filters and is coincidentally the same accessory used on the X100 series in case you happen to have one. Or if your filter has a thread on the inside of the ring, it may also be possible to screw it directly onto the X70’s bare barrel. The buttons are too squidgy, too recessed, too small. The rear scroll wheel doesn't scroll, it's more of a jog wheel and is not fun to use. The video button can serve as a function button, but it's in an awkward place and still requires a long awkward press to access the function since mapped to it. I presume the camera is correcting it in-camera. Here's a shot in broad daylight wide-open at f/2.8: What seems like a focus ring is programmable to control ISO sensitivity, Film Simulation modes, white balance, continuous shooting or the cropping modes. Despite many rumours of a Fujifilm X80 or even a Fujifilm X70S (like its older sibling in the X100 range), Fujifilm are staying tough and say no further camera in this range will be released.

If you would prefer a more detailed description, please feel free to call us and we’ll chat through it with you over the phone. Don’t forget to call the correct location though! The X70 boasted the same sensor and processor of the flagship Fujifilm X-T1. At the time, the Fujifilm X-T1 was revolutionising mirrorless camera technology and consumer expectations. I know as I was shooting with the Fujifilm X-T1 as my primary camera at the time. This is if you shoot JPGs right out of the camera. If you shoot raw and make your images later, the colors you get will be dependant on what software you use and how you use it; my color observations go out the window when you throw random software into the mix.The four rear central control buttons are unmarked because they are all programmable. As shipped, the left one is the self timer, for instance. It's great that they are programmable, but bad that you'll have to remember how you've programmed each because none of them are marked. Given that it does not have an EVF/OVF, the rear screen is all-important for framing and composing your shot. It's such a small camera that people are not afraid of it. I can get access and shoot in places where a DSLR would get me thrown out, and the X70 is silent. Ryan arriving at Kritter camp, 19 July 2016. ( Fuji X70, Flash ON, f/7.1 at 1/950 at Auto ISO 200.) bigger. For a camera that lives by its screen I'd prefer a much larger screen; a 3" screen doesn't work for this camera any better than a 3" screen would work on an iPhone. I'd prefer that the the screen was fixed, the two buttons above it moved elsewhere, and the screen enlarged to fill much more of the rear of the camera.

The Fujifilm X70 is a smaller version of the X100T with a smaller, slower lens and no viewfinder of any kind. Therefore it's not at all like the X100T, and why it sells for half the price. It offers the same great image quality and fantastic flash performance, but you're almost always holding it at arm's length to shoot.

The first time I had it I paid just under €400, and sold on for about €350. The second time around - in 2022/3 I had to pay €500 to buy, and sold for €600+ including the WCL-X70, wide converter which unlike the x100 ones cost me €30! It's pretty bad though. Crazy prices for a 2016 camera.

I started out with the X10- a Bayer, and was happy with that for a couple years, than got a XA1, also Bayer, with some great glass- 35/1.4, XC16-50, and 50-230. Later I got the 60mm for it's close up (not real macro but that's okay) capabilities Still happy with that but would like to upgrade to the XA3. When the X70 came out I couldn't wait for the XA3, so splurged on the X70 and have never regretted it. It takes a bit of getting used to the fixed lens but have really had great fun the last couple of months. The IQ is great, especially in low light and for street photography. In actual use in AF-C mode it stutters at the 3 FPS setting, running more slowly to catch up on focus for each frame — but at least it stays in focus. AF-C isn't pretty; it is continuously hunting for focus.Further to this, the screen is fully touch-enabled, and this was probably one of the first Fujifilm X Series cameras to feature this. The X70 has solved that problem, and I now find myself shooting more with this little Fuji than I ever did with any other, barring perhaps the excellent X-T1. Keep in mind that this camera has the same processor and sensor as the then-flagship Fujifilm X-T1 camera. The X70 comes with a built-in flash located in the same place as the viewfinder window of the X100T. Exposure compensation is ±2.0 and you have various options such as Forced Flash, Commander, Suppressed Flash, Slow Syncro and Red-Eye Reduction (available when Face Detection is set to on). There is also a hot shoe on which you can mount a (small) external flash if you wish. Taken with the built-in flash (+3EV) Battery Life The downside was that to use it, you had to deep dive into a menu setting to let the camera know you had the Wide Conversion Lens attached.

Adding to the discreet nature of the camera is the electronic shutter, which makes it possible to shoot at speeds up to 1/32000 in complete silence. However, it disables the use of flash and the extended ISO values. As with any electronic shutter, rolling shutter may occur with fast-moving subjects and banding will be present in certain artificial light conditions. The mechanical / electronic shutter menu We never tire of Fujifilm's gorgeous film simulations, most of which are present in the XF10. But how does it look in our studio scene? This is what's so great about the X100 series and X70: flash looks great in every light, so what's in the picture in the first place just looks better with the X70 than from most DSLRs or the iPhone in low light. Delivering high quality straight out of camera images in JPEG is simple and they’re also highly editable in-camera. Equally, the RAW files from the Fujifilm X70 are very workable in whatever editing software you choose to use.For looking up, pull out the LCD and use it to rest the X70 at any upward angle you like. It works great! The tilting screen can be angled up or down or flipped up 180 degrees. Doing so activates a selfie mode, which is actually just face and eye detection. Unlike other cameras with more advanced selfie modes, you have to press the shutter button to take the shot. Still, it works like a charm! The camera has activated face detection because I flipped the screen up to take a selfie.
